Congrats to our RYLA District 5300 students who led our entire meeting on Tuesday and talked about their experience at leadership camp last weekend: Jade Towns, Mariana Zamudio, Sawyer Mitchell, Camila Contreras, and Josh Frias.
Kudos go out as well to Summer Yang from MHS who won our local Hensel Ethics Essay contest and read her winning essay to the group.

We learned a few things about new member Adriana Avila this past Tues as she gave her craft talk. We heard about her family’s history in Monrovia, her schooling in Monrovia, how Natalie Harrison inspired her to go to a 4 year college, and her path to a career in grief counseling.

We had a riveting speech yesterday by Jim Nakano (aka The Donut Man and Glendora Rotary member) about a dark time in our history when the Japanese people were interned in camps during the Second World War. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us as they are so important to ensure these things never happen again.
